This book goes over basic phrases you might memorize if you just want to speak and understand enough spanish to get by. It also goes into more detail about a lot of grammar etc. I liked the way verbs were explained here, there are a lot of patterns to irregular verbs I never picked up on before and it goes over them here. I found it helpful.
